The Pyrenees Campaigns Tour
is an example of how we can combine visits to may places.
Day
1:
Leaving Madrid, our destination is Pamplona. Lunch stop and check in at our hotel. A walking tour of the city including the southern
defenses and
municipal museum.

Day 2:
Short coach journey to Sourauen to visit the
battlefield, including the old stone bridge where Wellington was almost
captured. We take the dirt track up to the heights which Marshal Soult's
forces failed to capture. Lunch is in the village. We then visit the Maya
Pass and General Hill's position. Our afternoon stop is at Lesaca -
Wellington's H.Q during the 1813 campaign and the scenes of battle along
the River Bidasoa. Overnight stop at a three star hotel in San Sebastian.
Morning visit to the castle and military museum and the scene of the siege
of 31 August, 1813. Walk through the old quarter where we have an early
lunch (tapas & refreshment) coach departs from hotel at 3pm for journey to
Vitoria. Check in hotel and then visit the monument, plaza mayor and old
quarter where we have dinner. |

Day 3:
Private visit to the military museum then by coach to Tres Puentes where we spend the morning visiting the sites of the battle, fought on the 21 June 1813.
Journey to Burgos for lunch. Tour of the cathedral and the great fortress which Wellington failed to take in October 1813.
Arrive Madrid in the evening |
